This sheepskin nearly became a “sale fail”—it’s one of my very favorites. I love the caramel color with dark brown and black edging and undertones. The fleece isn’t overly plush, but it’s a little curly which makes feel extra rustic. Petite and stunning.
All of our sheepskin hides are naturally tanned by our friends at Living Sky Tannery in Idaho. They’re 100% grassfed and finished, locally raised (by me!), and vegetable tanned with mimosa bark—no harsh chemicals, ever.
I especially love giving these as baby or wedding gifts. These sheepskin rugs carry a story, a sense of place, and the intention behind choosing something unique and heartfelt.
I know every one of my sheep. I always feel both grief and immense gratitude when we process them for meat. To me, preserving their hides is the ultimate way to honor the whole life of each unique individual animal. Thank you for being a part of that. - Aubrey
